Post Placement Visit and Report
- Oasis Adoption Services will conduct visits and write post placement reports to meet the guidelines of the country requesting the report, if it is a foreign adoption. For domestic adoptions, Oasis Adoption Services will conduct post placement visits according to the guidelines in the state where the adoption will take place.
- Post placement visits will take place in the home with all family members present. The visits will be at a minimum one hour.
- The social worker will assess the child in the following areas: physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development.
- The social worker will report on the child’s development in the above listed areas, stating any delays or concerns.
- The report will include how the family is providing for any special needs of the child and describe interventions the family has implemented, evaluations done, and professionals consulted.
- The social worker will discuss with the family member their adjustment to the adoption and any concerns they may have.
- Recommendations will be made for community services if it is appropriate.
- The information from the home visit will be written in a report and sent to the agency or country specified by the applicant.
